The Arab Open University (AOU) sought to optimize its operations and enhance student experiences by improving its existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. To achieve these objectives, the Prokoders team was entrusted with the task of developing and integrating new features into the ERP system. These enhancements aimed to augment flexibility, efficiency, and functionality within the university's administrative processes.
Objective:
The primary objective of this case study was to evaluate the impact of the Prokoders team's efforts in developing an ERP system for the AOU. Specifically, we focused on the development of an online student registration system and its integration with the university's electronic payment system.
Methodology:
The Prokoders team embarked on customizing the ERP system to create an online student registration system. This system allowed students to register for courses, make tuition payments electronically, and access course materials through an online portal. Simultaneously, efforts were made to effectively integrate this software solution with the AOU's existing electronic payment system.
Results:
The developed online student registration system proved to be a significant milestone in improving the AOU's administrative processes. Students benefited from the convenience and security of registering for courses online, paying tuition fees electronically, and accessing course materials seamlessly. The system also provided the AOU with a centralized platform to manage student records accurately and monitor their academic progress.
Furthermore, the integration of the ERP system with the university's electronic payment system streamlined tuition payment processes. Students could conveniently and securely settle their fees online, eliminating the need for manual transactions. This integration facilitated efficient communication within the organization and significantly reduced administrative burdens.
